Scott Harrison and Charity: Water: Witnessing the devastating effects of waterborne diseases in West Africa inspired Scott Harrison to found Charity: Water in 2006. This organization funds clean water projects in developing countries, using innovative fundraising and transparent practices. Scott’s journey from excess to service demonstrates travel's power to ignite a passion for positive change.
Afroz Shah and the Versova Beach Cleanup: Afroz Shah, a young lawyer in Mumbai, India, was deeply disturbed by the immense amount of trash polluting Versova Beach. In 2015, he initiated a volunteer-driven cleanup campaign that grew into one of the world's largest beach cleanup efforts. Over several years, Shah and countless volunteers removed tons of plastic and other debris from the beach, restoring it to a usable public space.
